Actors of the 'Old School' often used to say the schools' matinees were the shows where you knew you couldn't get away with a lazy performance. Now there is more theatre in schools and the same is true. This was before the film with Leonardo di Caprio (just as well - I don't look much like him) and it was sometimes hard work to let them know it could be fun. After the workshops in the mornings, though, we had usually helped them to realise that there is not such a difference between a play and playing.
